5 Apps Every Content Creator Needs

1. Lightroom (Free)

I love using Lightroom for two things. First of all I use it to up the exposure of my photos. From all the photo editing apps I have tried Lightroom gives the most natural result. I also use Lightroom to adjust the colors of my photos to match my blueish Instagram theme!

2. Canva (Free)

You can do so many things with Canva. Create highlight covers for Instagram stories, cards, Pinterest images and so much more. (If you would like a dedicated tutorial let me know in the comments below.)

3. UNUM (Free)

UNUM is a pretty straight forward app. You can use it to plan your Instagram feed. (Something I definitely should start doing more.) I like it, because it gets updated automatically whenever you update your Instagram profile!

4. Hype Type (Free)

Did you ever see a story with animated text? Hype Type does exactly that. You can choose the style and color. Keep in mind that although the app is free the video comes with a watermark that you have to pay to remove.

5. Pixabay (Free)

Pixabay is a great source for free high quality photography. Keeping up with blogging photography is hard and sometimes you need a little help. But you should always use someone’s work with their permission. That’s why Pixabay offers photos without copyright limitations.

Morning Skincare Routine

Today I would like to share with you guys my morning routine that I do everyday some days,if I remember and I am not already an hour late. Although I understand the benefits of a ten step skin care routine this is not something I can do. So here’s my small, humble morning skincare routine.

Cleansing

L’Oréal Ideal Fresh Foaming Cleanser

I like this cleanser because it’s pretty heavy duty. It takes off all of my makeup and dirt off my face. But because it’s so strong it’s also really drying. If you have a dry skin I would not recommend.

Moisturizing

Clinique Eye Cream

I’ve been using this eye cream for a while and I am not really crazy about it. It is somewhat moisturizing but not out of this world best eye cream around.

Charlotte Tilbury Face Cream

Last, I use my Charlotte Tilbury face cream. I really like it because it’s really moisturizing and has SPF which helps cut my routine further down. Check out the full review!

Making your blog legal (The lazy way)

From online research there are two basic things your blog needs to be “legal”. A disclosure policy if you are earning anything from your blog and a privacy policy if you collect any of the user’s data (such as email). Simple enough right? Well no! Since I am not a lawyer or affiliated with one composing these documents myself is impossible. The good news? There are sites that do the work for you for free! You just answer a series of questions and the site composes the policies for you. You just copy and paste them into a page of your blog! Of course if you have a big blog through which you receive significant income the sound choice is to consult a professional lawyer but for beginners like me I think this will suffice. Here you can compose your Privacy Policy and here the Disclosure Policy. I have tried both sites and you can check the results in the corresponding pages of my blog.

Review-Vivid matte liquid lipstick

First I have to say I am a hardcore Maybelline fan. Really good quality products with greater price tags! But this product was a total FAIL. The color I’m reviewing is the 05 nude flush!

But let’s start with the good stuff!

  • Beautiful, sturdy packaging
  • Great color selection ( ten honestly lovely shades from nudes to reds and even some extravagant purples)
  • Does not dry your lips at all. On the contrary it’s pretty hydrating!
  • Easy to use applicator that glides on the lips.

Sounds like a dream right? Well…

  • It does NOT dry matte. No matter how thin of a layer you put , no matter how long you wait it will never be completely matte. (Hence the not drying part). In the end I guess we can’t have the best of both worlds.

  • The color is significantly lighter on the lips and it’s not at all buildable.
  • It transfers like crazy and you’ll have to reapplicate every ten freaking minutes.

Even if I could look away from the fact that it’s not matte the formula is still really bad. I will not be repurchasing!

What is your favorite matte lipstick? Do you have better suggestions?

    • College survival guide!

I recently started college, this being my second semester. My first few weeks I kept thinking how great it was that I had friends there who let me in on all the secrets and made my time so much easier. Consequently, this post is for all of you that don’t have friends in college or you’re just afraid to ask for advice.

      • Socialize

Your first days you might feel like sitting in a corner not making eye contact with anyone. Don’t. Say hi. You are in the same school you do have things in common. It’s way easier to start a conversation!

      • Keep contacts

Getting a name isn’t enough. Facebook, twitter, phone, mail etc. Always ask for contact information. When you’ll miss class and are in desperate need of notes you’ll be greatfull you kept their numbers.

      • Utilize your agenda

Whether it’s digital or not use your agenda for everything. Homework, meetings, parties. In college a ton of things are going on. You don’t want to miss out because you simply forgot.

      • Love your teachers

Ask questions, participate, go to their office. Even if you don’t actually need help. This interaction will help them remember you and make them more keen to give you a good grade.

      • Be yourself

As opposed to school college has more diversity. Ages, nationalities, beliefs. There are so many different people in college. This means that diversity is also more easily accepted. So if you wanted to do something but were afraid of judgement college is a great place to do it.

So that’s it for now. Let’s help each other out!Do you have any advice you could give me about surviving college? Let me know in the comments below.

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream – Review

      What is it?
Charlotte’s magic cream is a daily face moisturizer with SPF 15 and UVA protection.

      What does it do?

The cream contains Unique ‘multi-tasking’ anti-age BioNymph Peptide Complex that stimulates collagen production. It features hyaluronic acid and wild pansy extracts that seal-in moisture. Rosehip and camellia oils and antioxidant vitamin E transforms dull complexions so you can get hydrated, youthful, glowing skin. Plus it’s paraben-free.

      The packaging.

As I have said many times Charlotte Tilbury’s packaging is gorgeous and totally matches my aesthetic. The box is really unique. You pull apart the two sides to reveal ” The magic dew of youth and luminosity in jar.”

It has a clear body while the lid is in the classic Charlotte Tilbury reddish brown and coppery rose gold.

      The formula.

For this particular product the formula is a game changer. I have tried many face creams and although all of them gave me enough moisture Charlotte’s magic cream is the only one that helped a lot with the dry patches on my nose and chin. It feels thick and luxurious and is not greasy.

      Would I recommend it?

Yes! For someone who has trouble with dry skin and is on the lookout for a great day cream. ( And is bored to first put on moisturizer and then sunscreen. Nobody has time for that!) I understand it is pricey but I honestly believe it’s worth the extra bucks. Plus from my point of view skincare is the most important part of our routines and if I am going to invest in a product it will be a skincare one.

What are your favorite Charlotte Tilbury products? Let me know in the comments below!

      Mr. Kate inspired wall art

A while back Mr. Kate visited Joslyn Davis’ place and together made this DIY pink and white wall art.

      Source
It’s a really simple DIY but because I’m lazy (and broke) I simplified it even more. You will need:

      • Three white wall frames

Download sketches. You can use all the tools I did for an hour without additional payment. And then get creative! Print your creations and frame them to the wall! That simple!

      Here’s how it turned out!

My parents hated it but I love it. It’s really simplistic and cute. If you like how it looks and want the same yourselves here are the pictures I made.

      Pampering day

We all have those days when we feel like everything sucks! When you feel awful and everything that can go wrong does! Our immediate reaction is to stay in bed all day. So here are some better ideas to brighten those days. Ideas to unwind and destress from a tiring day (or month). Don’t forget to pamper yourself!

      • Adult coloring books are in the spotlight! I suggest you invest in one. I don’t know what it is about them but they can definitely clear your head!

      • Put on a face mask. It’s beneficial, funny and good selfie material. Shhh…
      • Make a bubble bath and light up some awesome smelling candles. You’ll definitely feel more relaxed. A hot shower can also do the trick!
      • Do your nails. I don’t know what it is about painting my nails but it honestly makes me feel like my life is in order. Sadly it isn’t. A girl can dream! Right?
      • Read a book that you love
      • Binge watch your favorite show. Procrastination at its finest!
      •   Listen to music!

      • Order your favorite take-out. Yeah I ate it all myself. Don’t judge!

5 Disadvantages of Owning a Dog

Since you guys enjoyed my post about 5 Advantages of Owning a Dog I thought I would do the opposite. This is my personal experience. I love my little furry ball and I am not trying to discourage people from getting a doggie. But, since not everything is perfect I thought I would share in a fun way 5 disadvantages of having a dog.

      Financial

I’ve heard a lot of people saying that having a dog can be pretty cheap. ” They just need a corner to sleep and some food”. While this is partially true and having a pet doesn’t have to be overly expensive dogs are living organisms. They need drugs, doctors and checkups. Anything else your dog needs you can find cheap alternatives but when it comes to health things are tricky. You might never need a vet but you also might have to spend a lot more than you anticipated. My advice is to put some money aside each month for your dog’s medical expenses if they need them in the future.

      Practical

As we all know dogs need company, walks and generally time. A busy lifestyle in addition to caring for a dog can be pretty tiring.

      Attachment

Dogs generally are pretty attached to their owners. Although, each dog is different usually your dog will get pretty attached to you. This means that your alone time will be a lot less from now on.

      Hair

Have you ever thought what it would be like if you were drowning in hair? Get ready to find out! Dogs shed. A lot. Chances are you will be buying a new vacuum soon enough.

      Loss

From the moment I got my baby my worst fear is the day I’ll lose her. If nothing happens to me I know that I will probably be okay to see my dog go. When you spend so much time with a being you are going to be deeply hurt when they’re gone.

All in all, dogs are great but getting one is not an easy decision and there are no take backs. So if you decide to get a dog it will be for life.
