Testing 5 Kiehl’s Samples

I passed through my local Kiehl’s for a 5 minute diagnostic skin session and left with a bunch of samples. So naturally here’s a review!

Creme de Corps Nourishing Dry Body Oil

Although this body oil smelled amazing and was indeed really moisturizing it can make a mess. It spills everywhere! In addition because of its texture you will go through it a lot faster than a body cream which makes its 34$ price a bit high since you will need refills pretty frequently. If you love the smell you are better of with the Creme de Corps. It’s cheaper (per ounce) and will last you longer. If you don’t mind the smell the Charity Pot (27,95$) is an amazingly moisturizing body cream that I swear by. Plus Lush donates 100% of the profits to small grassroots organizations working in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.

Cucumber Herbal Conditioning Cleanser

This product does not get enough recognition. It’s an amazingly gentle cleanser that doesn’t dry your skin out like other cleansers. If you have dry and/or sensitive skin I would totally recommend.

Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask

This mask is supposed to brighten, clean and exfoliate your skin. I really liked it. It’s gentle and really cooling which can really help with puffy tired skin. I also believe that the price (39$) is quite good since you get a lot of uses in comparison to one use face masks.

Micro Blur Skin Perfector

I really enjoyed this product. It did minimize my pores and helped my makeup go on smoothly. Many people have been complaining that after a while the formula separates so if you purchase it I would suggest that you keep it in a cool place and even in the fridge.

Daily Revive Concentrate

This is an oil you are supposed to use everyday. It protects the skin of your face from the environment. Although with the amount of pollution and a variety of things that can damage the skin this sounds like a good idea. But it’s an oil. I already have somewhat oily skin and this made it even worse. I looked like I showered in oil. Not a cute everyday look. In addition I can’t imagine putting a moisturizer on top of this oily mess. In addition, because of its oiliness most makeup products don’t work well on top of it. For 47$ I wouldn’t recommend. You are better off investing in the Midnight Concentrate which I find as oily but you can clean the excess every morning through your face wash.

5 reasons why you should start your own blog.

A lot of people go into the blogging industry dreaming fame and money. Unfortunately the blogging world is pretty competitive and an easy success is not realistic. But there is way more to blogging than it meets the eye. So here are some realistic reasons why you should create your own blog.

  •  Creating Relationships

Even if its a comment every once in a while or a casual conversation the blogging community from my personal experience is very nice. By creating your blog you get the chance to talk with people, exchange ideas and even make new friends.

  • Improve Your Writing

By writing a lot of posts you can evolve and improve your writing without the anxiousness of grades and strict teachers.

  • Create a Portfolio

If you are interested in the writing, social media, blogging, youtubing, marketing….. etc. industries chances are your potential bosses will want to review your work. Having a blog that you have worked on for a long time ready for submission makes things a lot easier.

  • Attract Opportunities

As you must be aware blogging is a growing field. This means that companies are interested in bloggers and having a blog might get you an invite to a cool event or even a free product to try out. Of course you should not begin blogging just for that but its a great addition to all of the above.

  • Create

Every person is different. But we all have the need to express ourselves. By creating new blogging content you have a nice hobby through which you can show your true self in a fun way.

3 Simple Tips to Remove Makeup at the End of the Day

Hello, lovely readers!

If you want to wake up with fresh, glowing skin each day, removing your makeup is essential. You’re doing your skin a favour by removing makeup each day. Here are a few tips I like to use when I do not have my favourite makeup remover on hand.

1. Take advantage of steam

Fill your sink with hot water and let your face hover above it for 1-2 minutes. The steam will open your pores and make it easier for cleanser to absorb into the skin.2. Try an oil-based makeup remover to remove lipstick Long-wearing liquid lipsticks can be stubborn to remove. Soak a cotton pad in an oil-based makeup remover to dissolve your lipstick. 3. Make your own formulaI recently made my own balm to remove makeup. It combines oil and beeswax to gently remove my makeup. To create this formula, I combine 1/4 cup of olive oil and a tablespoon of beeswax. I melt the beeswax into the oil, allow it to harden then pour it into a container.

3 Easy Ways to Blog More Consistently

Hello, beautiful readers!

How long has it been since you hit ‘Publish’ on a new post? Life is busy, and your blogging habits can slip aside. If you’re thinking of reinventing your blog schedule or habits, check out these tips to help you get started:

1. Decide on a realistic publishing schedule

Some bloggers post daily, others post 2-3 times per week. Find a schedule that suits you, and keep in mind that you shouldn’t feel pressured to post each day. What matters is sticking to the schedule you set, and posting consistently based on that schedule.

2. Dedicate set times to work on your blog

Routines make life easier. Establishing a routine is a great way to build good habits and increase your efficiency. Setting up a dedicated time to write new content will increase your consistency. For example, you could dedicate a few hours each Saturday to blog, or write a new post each day on your lunch break.

3. Reward yourself for your consistency

Accomplishing a task feels great! Rewards act as a motivator, so plan a reward for yourself once you write a post. It’s not only more motivating to get work done, but integrating a reward makes it satisfying.

What are your top tips to blog consistently?

Time to spread your wings

So tomorrow I leave my home behind. I have to leave my doggo behind, my room, my family and friends, my country, but most of all, I have to leave my comfort and safe place behind. Starting tomorrow I embark on a whole new chapter and journey of my life where I’ll be off to a whole different place where I’ll be starting college.

I am feeling all kinds of emotions right now. Sad, excited, happy, overwhelmed, chaotic (the state my room’s currently in and also my mind)… but this time I definitely don’t have a feeling of uncertainty. I do know that when I arrive I will be feeling way out of my place and scared, but that is part of the challenge. That’s the whole thing of going on with your life after school, after living under your parents roof for many years and also having them there to help you with whatever and whenever.

In the midst of all the packing and getting everything ready before I leave, I knew that I had to write this post and just share with you how I am feeling. Maybe there’s some of you who reads this that might be going through the same thing right now.

Monday morning when I woke up, I felt this extreme nervous feeling in my stomach and everything starting feeling like it’s a reality. I think what I am most nervous about currently is being on my own. My family and home will be thousands of kilometers away from me, in a different country. I have to meet new people and make new friends and do new things. And I am excited for that, but I also feel very nervous, because most of the things around me will be “unknown”.

Maybe I am feeling stressed about things that I shouldn’t have to be worried about, maybe my biggest stress will end up being the amount of work I’ll have, cause I probably will be very busy. So I am going to apologize in advance if you guys might not see a blog post from me for the first few weeks.

Like I said in my previous post about my blogging goals for this year, I do want to post more regularly and consistently, but I am also aware that I will be very busy, that’s why my planning will have to be spot on. I know that the first month or so of college will probably be all over the place, so until I have settled and gotten more organized, I will get back into the blogging game.

Oh and I will also be able to post more beauty related things this year, because I will have more access to beauty items and all that jazz. I am after all going to learn to become a master at makeup and to turn people into zombies, fairies – whatever they desire haha

I can’t believe today is my last day here in my comfy, cozy home. I am writing this, sitting in my room that looks like a hurricane has hit it, with my sweet doggo laying beside me – I am going to miss her so much.

But, it is time for me to step out of my comfort zone and spread my wings and learn to fly on my own.

♥♥♥

Thanks for taking the time to read – hope you liked it!
